Bali. Linda's first vetting trip for Cavale, October 2025.

Who we are

Two cities, four languages, one obsession.

Cavaleis built by two people who couldn't find travel they could trust. So we made it ourselves.

Bali. Linda's first vetting trip for Cavale, October 2025.

Our story

It started with a dinner conversation

Cavale was started by Linda and Alexander, who kept having the same conversation: why is it so hard to find travel experiences that are actually worth the journey? Not the Instagram traps. Not the TripAdvisor top-10. The experiences your best-travelled friend tells you about over dinner — the ones that are hard to plan but impossible to forget.

We're headquartered in London and Luxembourg. That's not a corporate structure, it's where we actually live. Linda runs editorial and operations. Alexander runs product and growth. We share everything else.

Every experience on Cavale is a trouvaille— a lucky find. We go on the ground, we vet the operators, we test the experiences, and then we write about them honestly. If we haven't been, we say so. If it's not worth your time, it's not on the site.

What we believe

Four principles that decide what makes the catalogue.

01

Every listing should be a story someone can tell over dinner.

If we can't write three good paragraphs about why an experience belongs on Cavale, it doesn't go on Cavale. Volume isn't the goal — memorability is.

02

Language is trust, not a dropdown menu.

We work in English, French, and Luxembourgish — natively, not Google-translated. If we ever add a fourth, a fluent editor writes the copy from scratch.

03

Small operators do it better than big ones.

A family running a boat in El Nido for eighteen years cares about your trip differently than a chain hotel does. Cavale exists to surface them.

04

If we wouldn't book it ourselves, we won't list it.

We pay our own way for every site visit. We turn down operators who fail the test. The catalogue stays small on purpose.

How experiences make it to Cavale

A three-step process. We pay our own way for the second one.

01

We discover

We hear about something from a local scout, a previous operator, a traveller we trust. Or we stumble onto it ourselves. We don't take cold pitches.

02

We go

One of us travels there, books the experience, pays for it ourselves, takes notes. The operator doesn't know we're vetting until we've already been.

03

We write

If it makes the cut, we write it up in our own words. The operator gets to fact-check, not edit. The voice stays ours.
